Now I understand. I’ll uninstall universal movie scraper from kodi and try and adjust the agents from plex, thanks.
Totally respect this.
PKC and Kodi work GREAT for us. We LOVE it.
We’re really, really appreciative of all the work you’ve put into it, croneter!
So, I hope asking this here isn’t bad form…
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about how to watch a Plex/PMS “in progress” PVR recordings through PKC/Kodi?
Need arises occasionally… for us:
I’m out and about, realize we’re gonna miss the beginning of the game…
I can quickly and easily schedule a game to record via the Plex app on my phone…
Get home, would love to start watching in Kodi!
We’ve got Plex looking at the “recorded tv” directory on the server, and FINISHED recordings will show up in PKC/Kodi just fine… it’s those “in progress” recordings that are the holy grail of sporting events : )
Maybe I’m missing something simple?
Maybe it would be very simple to implement. Thing is - I don’t have a way to test Plex PVR. If you could share your library and could time some recording, I would see what happens Plex-wise.
Just a thought ![]()
Definitely. Happy to do whatever I can! Just need clarification on what you need… message you with access to the plex account, some specific logs? Sorry, I’m just not clear ![]()
Big one, looking forward to your feedback!
Changelog
version 2.10.5 (beta only):
- Rewire library sync to speed it up and fix sync getting stuck in rare cases
- Optimize threads by using events instead of a polling mechanism. Fixes PKC becoming unresponsive, e.g. when switching users
- Optimize adding values to Kodi databases by not using sqlite COALESCE command
- Fix OperationalError when resetting PKC
- Improve sync resiliance when certain items are not to be synced to Kodi or PKC skipped an item in the past
- Make sure bool is returned instead of an int
- Don’t use WAL mode for sqlite connections, it is not making any difference
tried 2.10.6 and it wouldn’t sync, tried rebuilding the DB and it was extremely slow. Had to revert back to 2.10.4 and now its working fine again. Nvidia shield kodi client, windows PMS.
Thanks for the feedback, but unfortunately it’s useless without a log file. Please see here: How to Report A Bug · croneter/PlexKodiConnect Wiki · GitHub
Sync is indeed slow for the first few items but will then speed up tremendously
I cant for the life of me suss this out. Ive done a fresh install of Kodi on my Shield and started everything from scratch. When I go to play a 4k movie is it being force transcoded and I am losing HDR (all colours washed out etc) and Dolby Atmos.
My media is attached via a external hard drive via usb 3.
Thanks in advance.
Does PKC tell you that the PMS enforced transcoding? It’s possible that there are bandwidth restrictions if your PMS and Kodi are not in the same LAN network.
PKC is NOT responsible for how Plex transcodes any video, so talk to Plex about the washed out colors.
Yeah, I get a notification stating its being forced to transcode. Funny it plays fine in the Plex app.
Well then PKC can’t do anything about the bandwidth restrictions you set on the PMS… You would need to lift those in order to avoid transcoding.
Can’t remember setting any restrictions.
I dont have the logs as I cant access them right now but the sync isnt fast. The old 2.10.4 is fast but anything after that either crashes during sync or takes 1 or 2 seconds per item.
Try 2.10.7 and report back please. And again - I need logs to fix any crashes: How to Report A Bug · croneter/PlexKodiConnect Wiki · GitHub
All sorted now. Cheers bro.
Hi,
I recently had to change my TV Show path substitutions in PKC settings from a nfs path to a Windows network drive path, W:. I reset the dB afterwards. I’m using direct play. Everything works, but KODI nor PMS now recognize when a TV show is playing, and after watching a show it will not be marked as watched. Any idea on what is happening?
Not without a debug log file, no. See How to Report A Bug · croneter/PlexKodiConnect Wiki · GitHub
I’m having a new issue where movies just don’t play. All was running fine and as far as I know I haven’t changed anything (although messed with a few settings since to no avail); I select the movie and it briefly comes up with ‘loading’ but then nothing happens.
Latest plex server ( 1.18.3.2156) and v2.10.4 for PKC; I’ve reset the kodi db and refreshed all metadata in Plex so I’m stumped. Files hosted on a seagate personalCloud nas and kodi on a sony bravia android tv
