PlexKodiConnect: Kodi Plex Integration Done Right

I think you are not talking about playlists but "Plex Sections”. Then your “issue” is described here: Video Nodes and Skins · croneter/PlexKodiConnect Wiki · GitHub

You basically need to tell Kodi that you have several Movie sections

i am indeed not talking about playlist but library (is it what you mean by section ?).

I didn’t find a solution with your link…

i have for example a library corresponding to the folder Sci-Fi with inside 2 sub-folders, 1080p and 4K. The same for Comedy. I have then created a library gathering all 4K movies (from Sci-Fi, Comedy and so on… ).

On Kodi, using pkc, I succeeded to have (with the skin Aeon Nox) a Movies menu with submenu corresponding to my differents libraries. However, in the main Movies section, since I have the same movie in different libraries, some movies appear 2 times…

I guess it is normal… Not sure it can be solved.

I will look more closely about what you called “plex sections”… The solution seams there according to you

That is normal behavior on the Kodi side of things and can’t be avoided. Kodi does not know the concept of several sections/libraries.

So problem solved! That’s exactly what you need to do…

Has anyone tried PKC with kodi 19? Does it work, are there any problems?

Hi
Is there an way to check which IMDB code that comes thru to Kodi from PMS?

I still can’t get trailers to work when it get bogus IMDB codes.

Pkc does not yet support Kodi 19 as Kodi switched from Python 2 to 3

Changelog

version 2.12.2:

  • version 2.12.0 and 2.12.1 for everyone
  • Fix regression: sync dialog not showing up when it should

Plex Extras Won’t Play.

I saw there was a similar bug in the past. I can see the extras just fine. And I have no context menu plugins installed and am running the Aeon Nox Silvio theme.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Kindly share your Kodi debug log: How to Report A Bug · croneter/PlexKodiConnect Wiki · GitHub

Im trying the beta version. I have noticed all my files are not scanned in . On direct play it ask is not detecting certain files and ask if I want to stop the scan. Is that normal?

No it’s not normal. You did not configure direct paths correctly. Please stick to add-on paths that work out of the box.

  • In the PKC settings under Sync, choose add-on paths instead of direct paths
  • Rescan your library: under Advanced, hit “reset the Kodi Database”, then YES, then NO

Hi,

I’m new to PKC and have a couple of questions. My PMS is remotely hosted and I will be accessing it from home with an Odroid N2 running CoreELEC. I have Movies, TV Shows and Music on the PMS.

  1. Should I be using Direct Paths and if so in what format should I be entering it?

  2. I do not understand the difference between “Try Direct Path” & “Direct Play” in Settings | Playback. Please explain?

Thanks for a great product and I think it’s great how it integrates into Kodi so you don’t have to use the Plex App.

TIA

No, use Addon paths if you’re not in the same LAN.

Just leave that setting untouched, it won’t make any difference in your case . PKC will try direct paths, which will fail, then resort to addon paths.

@croneter - Thank you.

@croneter - I note a lot of lines like the following in the kodi log:

2020-08-22 08:05:38.219 T:140538888046336 WARNING: Process directory 'https://[my server ip].c6f5dc88bd364eb19761fa11c0220xxx.plex.direct:31362/library/parts/1742/1594973932/' does not exist - skipping scan.

Done a Clean Library and Repair of Kodi Database and they are still there. Any ideas?

EDIT: Think this has something to do with Plex Music and using Add-on Paths!

See here: Kodi not shutting down, many errors in Kodi log file, large Kodi log file · Issue #14 · croneter/PlexKodiConnect · GitHub

In a nutshell: these log entries don’t matter. If they bother you, don’t sync Plex music sections to Kodi

Fair enough. Can you tell me if the entries only happen once, or on every kodi restart, or forever until my storage space is full?

EDIT: Read your link again and it’s answered there, sorry.

Thank you.

Is it recommended to use the plexkodi entries or skinhelper? I notice some differences in ondeck and so on.

PlexKodiConnect takes care of all your Plex sections/libraries of the SAME kind and splits them apart - if you even have several. That’s the only major difference…

is there a way to get PKC to play folder structure m2ts and .iso ??
