Hi - First of all many thanks for this. Its working great for me.
I had a question regarding actor thumbs for TV Shows. Since plex does not scrape this info automatically (unlike movie actors) I was wondering how I could fetch this info into Kodi using NFO files I have generated. Currently I only get actor thumbs for those actors in TV shows who also appear in any movie in my library.

The simplest solution here is to use a skin that uses the skinhelper addon (this addon has all sorts of magic included such as fetching the actor images when they are not available locally, showing ratings from rotten tomatoes, fetching the IMDb top250 for both movies and tv shows etc etc). Titan is one of those skins or if your feeling brave you can try my Eunique skin that also includes those features (along with displaying your avatar image on the homescreen).
Hi, started using plexkodiconnect this week on the atv4, looks very promising and works well, do you have any plans to merge a shared server with a local server so it displays as one library in kodi or would it be a bit of a coding nightmare ?

It is unfortunately a programming nightmare. Workaround - have a dedicated kodi profile per pms server you would like to use

Same problem. With every 24 reconnect I have to manually chose the server in the settings, otherwise PKC still connects to my old IP

It looks like the wiki isn’t complete.
If there info on how to set up direct paths?
I want plex to be managing the database. I don’t it doing anything else on my sever.
I think this is what direct paths will do.

This is a really nice plugin. The only problem I have is with fling music from plex web app or android app.
Fling from plex webapp works if I select a single music title. If I select an Album or a Playlist it starts the first song in the list. If I select the second title from an album it plays the first. After the first it plays the second but I cant play it directly only if I select the title within the title section so that it is the only one in the list.
Plex android app is crashing when I connect to kodi a music title is currently playing.

I am using Milhouse’s builds which change nightly, so maybe @whitewidows try a different build.
I will say when i first got the pi, i had to lower the Limit artwork cache threads and Limit download sync threads to the bare minumium or it would crash Kodi.
Ended up going through a few different cards before i found one that i didn’t need to change the settings.
So it could be my pi board can’t handle it? I’m just using the latest official build

It’s not your pie, they are all identical. It might be your SD card (happened to me and a friend of mine). Try another SD card and see if PKC works

It’s not your pie, they are all identical. It might be your SD card (happened to me and a friend of mine). Try another SD card and see if PKC works
I had actually tried again moving the system to a USB flash drive and still had issues. I try to dig up a SD card and try again

What? Really? I thought it updated play counts & play positions as you watch shows. How does it allow you to move between players if nothing is written back to PMS?

Ah well, yes, excepting play counts and play positions, obviously, so you are right there :-P. But PKC won’t otherwise alter, add or delete elements nor will PKC change any pms settings.

AFAIK it’s the server that updates play count, play positions etc. The client just asks the server for “things” like playing a movie, stopping, pausing etc, the server keeps track of what is played.
Typically if you set up Kodi with your files your will get a Trailer button in the “Additional Movie Information” window. With PlexKodiConnect doing your Plex library this button is not available anymore.
Is there anyway to add the Trailer feature again while using Plex in Kodi?

PKC will tell Kodi whether a Plex trailer is available. I do have a button in the “additional movie information” screen, e.g. with the Titan skin or Aeon Nox skin.
However, there is not always a trailer available from Plex; the button might thus be missing (not my experience though)
What’s your skin? Have you tried another? Is the button always missing, even when you’re 100% sure that there is indeed a Plex trailer for the movie?
