@mini.PLEX said: @croneter - just wondering if there is support for cast/actor images and if so how to implement it? none of my skins/addons appear to scrape/display my cast images.
is there a setting I am missing somewhere?
thanks for the continued PKC support. working great!!
Must be a kodi thing on your side. PKC syncs the actors etc. Names to kodi, that’s it. Kodi does the rest, including scraping pics. Works on my side
@croneter thanks for your reply… I am still baffled… I have completely rebuilt my Kodi installs from scratch re-synced PKC and still no actor images display with even the standard skin. plus made sure my settings are set to scrap for actor images and still no actor images.
any more ideas anyone?
Further info: Just to test I imported a movie folder directly into Kodi (not via PKC) and my actor images appeared. actor images now seem to be appearing for my other PKC synced content… it’s almost as if KODI needed a kick start to start scraping? could this be the case @croneter ?
~~Just an update on the issue I was having a few versions ago with movie collections/sets not downloading their artwork:
I still mostly have no artwork for collections/sets. There is some things to note, though. Some collections/sets did download artwork, maybe 5 out of 50 some. The ones that do have artwork have a strange glitch in Kodi. Upon scrolling over to a collection with artwork, the logo (not poster) for the artwork flashes. I’m not sure which artwork the skin I’m using is calling for, but I’m assuming it is the “clearlogo” because that is the image that flashes briefly before changing to a different image that is not found when I go to the manage>choose art option from the context menu.
Very strange. I can’t remember the last time I did a database wipe so I’ll try that at some point tonight and see if the problem continues.~~
Edit: The database wipe seems to have worked. Almost every collection has art now. The Logo error seems to be something on the skin side I think. It calls for the clearlogo of the collection and then flips it to the clear logo of the first movie in the collection for whatever reason.
Great plugin guys. One question I have is can PKC differentiate different ‘Movie’ libraries?
As an example I have ‘Movies’, ‘Concerts’ and ‘Sports’ which are all configured in Plex as Movie libraries. I’d quite like to keep them separate if possible.

First of all, sorry for my English in advance, I’m Dutch J. I have a problem when I’m trying to start a video on Kodi and PKC with my android Plex app on my mobile. (with the cast app, use the mobile as remote). I can find my tv box perfectly and connect to it. But when I start a tv show it plays a different episode from that same show. So for example, when I try to play GoT S06E07 it plays GoT S04E07. When I don’t use my mobile and use Kodi itself to navigate to the tv show and play GoT S06E07 it works perfectly. Then it plays the write episode.
I tried to reset the database a few times, reinstall Kodi and PKC a few times and tried it PKC on different devices (both android boxes as windows systems), they all have the same problem.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks in Advance

small question, can i use direct paths with PMS installed on nvidia shield ? (and then a NAS)
plex paths : /storage/ASUSTOR/path
windows path : \ASUSTOR\path
I tried several settings but can’t find the good one so far
@croneter Thank you for making this fantastic addon. If it weren’t for you (and hippojay) I would not be using Kodi at all.
A quick question. I am sure I’m missing it but… how do you delete a file from the context menu when using PKC? I see ‘remove from library’ does just that and leaves the file intact on disk.
EDIT: Read OP like a boss. Good luck with the pipeline!

Of course you can. How are your Nvidia movie folders accessible to another client in your LAN? (indeed \asustor\movie?!?)

great. Movies aren’t on the shield hard drive. Only PMS is installed on the shield. Movies are on a NAS which i can access on my LAN (on a windows computer : \ASUSTOR\path and on PMS : /storage/ASUSTOR/path)
Hope i’m clear enough
thanks

So if we are looking at a movie, try this: in your browser, go to your PMS, then choose any movie. Click on the three dots (…) on the left, then info. What the very first section “Files” tell you about the movie’s path?
My guess is that you’ll have to choose Replace Plex paths in the PKC settings with
Original Plex Path: /storage/ASUSTOR/<movies>
Replace Plex Path with: smb://ASUSTOR/<movies>
Make sure that you Enter network credentials for your NAS in the PKC settings connection tab.

I’ve got : /storage/ASUSTOR/path
So my suggestion did not work? Is ‘path’ a placeholder? In my suggestion for Original Plex Path, plug in the path without the filename that you saw on the movie element

Will try in the next hours and let you know. Many thanks
sorry but I had no other way to get in contact with you.
Why has that great Addon such a complicated name?
For Emby Mediaserver the name for the Kodi Addon ist also only “Emby for Kodi”.
It’s a but much easier and more enjoyable, or not?!
I think other Third-Party Clients like the Client for the Samsung Smart Hub has also for long time a name like “Plex for SamsungTV’s”.
Or something like that.
For your Addon, I would much rather prefer such names like…
Plex for Kodi
Plex Kodi-Client
Kodi-Client for Plex
