Can anyone help me? I’ve never used plex before but I have realised there is quite a good 3d section I’d like to access! I currently use xbmc,so basically I’ve downloaded and installed plexbmc repo and helper but when I go to the add on there is nothing there? I was told to use the amber skin and try go plex which does load but I get a script error! I assume I’m missing something? Any help would be great guys

The old PlexBMC repo is obsolete, so the stuff it installs doesn’t work right with modern Plex servers.
You need to install one of the newer PlexBMC versions as modified by pecinko and some other contributors.
When used with the Plex-adapted ‘Amber’ skin for XBMC made by pecinko, XBMC can work almost like an official Plex client.
You can find his currently latest release of the PlexBMC add-on v3.4.3 using this link: http://tinyurl.com/lkan5k9
That version works equally well with the “Gotham” and “Frodo” versions of XBMC (I’ve used it with both)
The latest versions of his ‘Amber’ skins are best downloaded from his github pages.
Those amber skins can be found on the page reached through this link: https://github.com/pecinko/skin.amber
If you click the “Download ZIP” button you will download a zip file for the currently selected project branch.
The “master” branch holds the version of the skin intended for the new “Gotham” versions of XBMC, while the “frodo” branch holds the version of the skin intended for the older “Frodo” versions of XBMC. You can switch project branch using the wide button above the top left corner of the project file list (not the small green button, but the one to its right).
Btw:
You didn’t mention installing a Plex Media Server, so I feel obliged to point out to you that any Plex client is useless without a PMS server to access. Even if you don’t intend to serve out any of your local content, but only to access online channels, you still need to configure a PMS server so that it can deliver such channel content to your Plex clients (including PlexBMC). The clients themselves have no ability to access any media without going through some PMS server.

Thanks dlanor that’s really helpful! Yep no plex media server I stupidly assumed plexbmc was like any other repo once installed it would have the content haha
Thanks for the reply
Cheers gaz
