PlexMediaServer-1.21.1.3830-6c22540d5-x86_64 killing PLEX on my SYNO

I’m having the same issue after the update which I did about 1 hour ago. As soon as my Nvidia Shield connects it crashes Plex on my Synology NAS. Been working fine until tonight. I can watch on my PC using Chrome browser without issues.

Plex server 1.21.1.3876
Plex app version on shield, can’t tell but it’s updated to the latest.
App on Android phones will also crash the server. App is updated to latest on my phone. App version is 8.11.0.22186

I see there were logs but then removed.

May I see them please???

Not sure why they were removed but here they are. (File removed)

I was using 3830 and update to 3876 having tested both against my Nvidia Shield.
I’m not able to reproduce yet.

Can you get the Nvidia Shield logs please?
PMS isn’t telling me anything useful.

I won’t be off work for awhile. Here is the log from the android app which I just started and it killed my Plex(File removed) .

I’ve uninstalled and re-installed plex and the issue still exists if I use my Android phone or Nvidia. I can’t watch anything right now. I rolled back tp 1.21.1.3842 and the issue went away. There is something really screwy with the latest version.

If you use the web browser?

@aw9d

First recommendation I got was “Did the user reinstall the Android app?”

I’m not a player guy and definitely not android but apparently it installs differently than when it upgrades???

I didn’t touch the nvidia app or android app. I did the reinstall of the older version and that was all. No reboots or anything else, it just started working again.

Just an update. When other users would connect it would crash the server. I had to delete all shared users and send new invites to fix the issue.

My error is back after 2 Weeks without any issues. Out of the blue Plex is crahshing again.

As I noted in the other issue tracking this one, deleting/re-adding users didn’t work for me (just created a massive headache to get the invites all re-accepted), and I eventually downgraded to fix the problem.

That’s obviously not tenable for security reasons, so it’d be great to get a confirmation of the real problem and an official fix.

Have any of you considered

  1. Public 1.21.1.3876
    -or-
  2. Plex Pass 1.21.2.3918

?

3830 didn’t stick around long, did it?

not using the android app and reducing to 1 profile solved it…for now
