Hello all,
I just wanted to bring up that someone over at the networkedmediatank forums is working on a Plex client for the PopcornHour series of products.
For more information check out: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showthread.php?tid=56731
This will probably be way easier aswell now that DLNA is announced for PLEX.
That’s awesome!! Looks really nice, too. I love that Plex is getting introduced to so many clients
Exactly, specially with DLNA support gonna be epic!
Hi All
This is my little project and was wounding where I can find some info on getting my client to work with the server and do things like set movies as watched etc…
Also someone somewhere said that there may have been a flash client in the works does anybody know of this? and if so is it open source? So I can get a look at the code.
my projects up on github here if any one would like to have a look, some of the saybas code is removed but can find here
Some updates for those not no the Networked Media Tank Forums

Post your bugs and thoughts, as always if you think you can help PM me and I’ll help get you setup.
Thanks for testing.
I hope this takes off. I was looking at upgrading to the PCH 400 series from my A-110. One main thing holding me back was the lack of plex support. I use Plex extensively on my iPad and don’t think I could go back to using anything else afterwards. Hopefully this turns out as good as the iPad version.
Should work on the A-400 - do also on my Popbox V8. Could be “THE” plex client also with “HD-Audio” support as well. Resuming would be fine at first to work smooth with other clients like iPad which I use also a lot when my wife block my home theater.
newly installed and tested on POPBOX3D, using wireless key, flawless playback
I do hope you continue this dev effort
The TV shows don't seem to allow selection of individual episodes or am I missing something? You select a show and it is as though it start a queue of them. This is on an A400.

Hi Philip,
Try pressing the red and blue buttons while on a details page.
I've already posted something about this on the NMT forums, but, since I've been using Plex, and been on Plex's forums, essentially since the beginning, I thought I should make some comment over here.
I grabbed an A-400 b/c I was getting annoyed with my Boxee Boxes and their snail-like pace in loading. This was something of an experiment. I actually was planning on using NMJ, but, if you have your files in numerous folders, NMJ on PCH is a friggin' PITA.
I went to the app store and downloaded PlexNMT. I pointed it towards my Flexraid server, and all of my media groups (TV, Movies, kids) came up. For some (still not understood) reason, I had all kinds of either buffering or other problems which led to stutters.
Just to see if it made a difference, I pointed PlexNMT to my Mac Pro (which also has PMS running on it, but is pointing to the VERY SAME files on my Flexraid server). The stutters went away, and it worked incredibly well!! My DTS-MA, TrueHD, and LPCM files all did just fine on passthrough, there were no problems with subtitles, and the GUI was nice and fast. IT WAS A REVELATION, AND IT ONLY TOOK 2 MINUTES TO SET UP.
My only complaint at this point is that, after an as-of-yet-undetermined period of time (probably a couple days), it seems that the connection to PMS becomes lost, and I end up having to reboot to get everything working again. No clue why.
Overall, though, this is about as close to the perfect PMS client (esp for lossless audio) as exists in a non-computer package.
Oh, one other thing:
if there's one obstacle I would say is keeping it from being 'prime-time ready,' it's the fact that there is no 'resume at xx:xx' capability. Possibly the greatest beauty for those of us who have small kids and a bajillion distractions is the fact that Plex keeps track of where you left off (both from room-to-room, as well as on the same machine).
Unfortunately, PlexNMT doesn't have this yet, and it is a MAJOR downside.
Also, it does inexplicably crash more than I'd prefer for an app that's used by my whole family daily. Certain files just seem to send it into crashage.
Also, the music setup needs serious work.*
*I generally use spotify for music. So PCH is a non-starter for music for me.
Thanks for your feed back NOD,
As you have found it is still a work in progress and hopefully I'll get some time to work on it, once i have the new look down i should be able to get the music side of things going quickly.
but has for the resume it a bug with the PCH that I'm trying to work around.
Thanks again
I GREATLY appreciate all your work on this, man.
:)
Hi guys just wondering if anyone could help me. I’m running a popcorn hour a-400 and have installed plex but I’m not getting anywhere with it. Iwhen it asks me for IP address then media server port. It only comes up with a number pad 1-9 there is no zero. Am I missing something, what determines the port number
Thanks
Hi there,
Would like to know if there is an updated plex client for the a-400 series ???
I’ve installed the only one available @ cloudmedia app store (from my nmt a-400) which is pretty old, basic and has some serious bugs and limitations.
One for example… once you run a file located @ the PMS the app client for some reason renames the file to “file.mkv” so it doesn’t shows the external subs (which after that doesn’t match the filename) resulting in only video playback.
Have been searching around the net, but have not been able to find something more updated, then came here to this thread just to find that the last post dates from June 2014, and never got a reply.
Could anyone guide me in the right direction please? #-o
Hello Rene751.
Create just under your “plex” directory a file named “config.xml”.
Put in this file the content below (adapt it to your own configuration, I use a Synology NAS, and the NFS protocol, far better than SIMBA one) :
Once you did this, use the parameter menu of your plex app (be sure to use the “Syabas” app version 1.0.9, not the “NMT” one, on your A-400) and put the options “use player” and “use protocol” to “on”. Then click on the “configuration file” option, then chose your configuration file. Use the “config.xml” you just created. then check the configuration. You should have a “SUCCESS” in the popup window. Then you will have :
- better streaming through your network (NFS is forced)
- the correct name of the file
- subtitles ok (you can name them “mymovie..srt”, it works very fine for me)
Good luck !
Sorry the xml has been flushed away. Use this config attached (rename it with the “xml” extension)
