Hi Everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with getting PMP Embedded on a 7th generation Intel NUC to work with passing through TrueHD 7.1 audio?
I having issues with getting any TrueHD content to play audio through my Integra DRX 5.2 connected via HDMI. Just downloading some additional test files but it would seem that everything except TrueHD works fine.
Am I missing something? Can Embedded and a NUC not do passthrough for TrueHD 7.1 content?
Thanks and apologies if this has already been asked and answered. I haven’t been able to find the same exact use-case / issue I am experiencing.
I do TrueHD passthrough all the time with PMP embedded on a 4th generation NUC (you have a 7th generation). Make sure you have TrueHD passthrough checked in the settings.
My apologies. I should have also said that I have enabled all the passthrough options including TrueHD.
I think I need to find another way of testing this further and may do a clean Windows 10 install and isolate whether it is hardware or software related. If it works in Windows and not Embedded PMP then at least that narrows down the source of the issue.
Unfortunately I don’t currently have another physical device to test TrueHD with the Integra amplifier and isolate whether it is the issue.
Tested with Xbox One S and 4K disc. Output of Atmos / TrueHD content works find so amplifier is working correctly.
Just found this thread on PMP Embedded and NUCs… Not sure if this is still applicable to current PMP version but have updated BIOS on NUC and will test further. Will probably even test with Windows to determine if its just an Embedded issue.
Further testing completed by installing Windows 10 on NUC. TrueHD / DTS-MA etc passthrough all works correctly. Looks like it’s certainly the limitation of the Embedded version.
Does anyone know if there is any roadmap / plan to resolve this issue? The Embedded version may not be as full featured as the Windows version but seems to a more stable and better performing solution. I certainly think the video quality is better in Embedded but that could just be because I haven’t set things up optimally?
