PMS 1.15.x for Shield TV?

Am I missing something or are there no later PMS beta builds for nVidia Shield TV than my current 1.14.1.5488 from a couple of months ago?

I’m used to seeing my Shield TV and macOS “test” server stay pretty much in sync version-wise but this seems to be no longer the case.

Apologies in advance if I’ve missed something (as usual) !

Notes:

  • Nvidia SHIELD builds are slightly delayed and will be available on Google Play store once QA testing has completed.

I don’t have a Shield for reference to check if they have caught up with the “slightly delayed” part yet.
You could check this as a fallback (from Plex Media Server - #245 by tamas):

No, they haven’t caught up on the “slightly delayed” :slight_smile:

And that refers to a release 2 builds ago … obviously something going on. Normally the builds trickle out to the Google Play Store within a couple of days.

In fairness… I’ve already seen “phased rollouts” through Google’s Play Store to take significantly longer than those couple of days. That being said… I’m aware it’s of little consolation if you’re stuck waiting :frowning:

OK fair enough, I personally don’t think I’ve ever seen anything approaching 2 months like this one though …

It’s only been 10 days since 1.15.0 beta has been released :wink:

Mmm, Ok, slight miscalculation there on my part, it was actually 2 months since 1.14.xx, and there have been no 1.15.xx builds released for Shield TV so far in the Play Store :slight_smile:

@tamas could you provide an update on PMS for the Shield? 1.15.1.707 was just released… any chance that’ll roll to the Shield, as well?

Edit: I just got 1.14.1.5490 on the Shield. :’(

Hi.

We are working to resolve the outstanding issues with our shield build (around hardware transcoding). We hope to have an update soon.

As the OP For this thread may I thank you @StSimm1 for at least providing an official response of sorts, albeit 5 weeks after my initial post. We now know there is an issue and that you are working on it, which is some kind of advance I guess, although it still falls far short of the timeliness, responsiveness and transparency that most of us would like to see.

Nevertheless, thanks again for the update and hope you can update us again soon?

A quick update:

We believe we have found the root cause of the transcoding issues on the unreleased SHIELD builds. Once confirmed, we will roll out a release.

That is the client and not the server (Which this thread is about) but it looks like I just got 7.14.0.9918 installed on my Shield.
