PMS 64 bits will not install on windows server 2012 R2

Server Version#:PlexMediaServer-1.32.0.6918-6f393eda1-x86_64
Player Version#:
I wanted to install the 64 bit version of PMS onto my windows 2012R2 server. On this server I had running the 32 bits version without problems but because finally the 64 bit version is here, and more memory can be addressed to the PMS, I thought it was a win-win situation.
When I exit the 32 bit version and start the installer, it says: “This program does not support the version of Windows your computer is running.”
Even when I downloaded the item from your website, it clearly saw that I have a 64 bits computer!
So, is there a solution or do we have to wait until you guys figure it all out?
Thanks.

This post may be relevant to you as Windows Server 2012 R2 is based on the Windows 8.1 codebase.

The final post in that thread has links to the last version of Plex Media Server to support Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1. You may want to give the 64-bit version of that release a shot.

Thanks for the info. I know it is time for me to go up in server version, but I am a bit disappointed by this news, ah well, nothing else to do, right?

Got the 64 bit version running and for all I know it was/is running fine. Now comes the step to take, going to Windows server 2019… have a hard time wanting to do that right now… I hope I can postpone it because I have some physical problems and I need to be able to bend and flex to do the actual upgrade/change of hardware. Thanks again for helping.
