PMS bug: something went wrong in photo library

I have the exact same problem. This is my first time having to search for so long for something Plex related. Especially when I only use it nowadays for my photo library. It’s been going on for an year now! It is time to be fixed, don’t you think? And by fixed I mean - no errors, no crashes on mobile apps when browsing photos, no rotation glitches and problems…

If you only use the gallery, it might be time to start checking out Immich

I’ve been tracking this topic for the last four months, and after hearing about the Plex Pass price increase, I decided to double down and buy the lifetime plan at the current price. Even though everyone is saying Plex is dead, I’m putting my money where my mouth is to show that I still have a little bit of belief in this product in the long term. Please, Plex team, don’t disappoint me.

Gosh man, don’t know what to say, your money is your money. I would not expect Plex team to be moved to tears and begin working on this tho, or in the words of Elan … that might not be enough to “endear the dev team”, lol…If I was in your position from where I was when I bought my lifetime membership, I would have said “hmmm, no thanks”, and that’s when the price was lower than it is now.

There are other alternatives out there now.

Oh look, another release announcement with no sign of this being fixed…are we going to have to wait another Month for some more disappointment then???

I jumped in and fixed this issue this week, I’ve been told the next release for the Web client should be around the end of the month.

I am bored now. I have just had the Android app update and it now tells me that my server is out of date because I have not updated it due to this issue. As of now Plex is useless to me on my phone, if it becomes useless on my Fire TV stick/TV then I’ll have a 100% failure of Plex in my house and NO ONE WILL BE HAPPY.

Should be addressed with the Web release that came out today. See: Plex Web - #463 by bengeorge. Be sure to use app.plex.tv. The bundled web app included in PMS will need a PMS update before we see this change there.

Soooo a month till it shows up in PMS?

Finally, some progress, it works for me in the website on app.plex.tv. Now it’s waiting for the release in the plex for windows. That took a while.

If you’re referring to our Desktop app, then the fix is there too.

Indeed, i mean the Plex Desktop app. And… YES, finally. I had the update for the Plex Desktop app a few minutes ago, and it works for my setup. Finally.

Waited as long as I could but switched to Jellyfin. Seems to work great.

The current PMS Beta now has this fixed on the bundled web app. Could be a bit longer before PMS 1.41.7 hits production but not too much longer.

Jellyfin for video/music, Immich for photos. Works.
