PMS Crashes ~2min left from the end of anything played from Plex for iPadOS

On seemingly anything I watch through the Plex app on my iPad, Plex Media Server crashes with about 2 minutes (not exact, but in that range) left in the file. It plays just fine until that point. I seem also to be able to complete a file with no issues when playing from my AppleTV. It appears to be specifically related to watching on the iPad.

I should also add… this was happening on the previous PMS version. I updated today and tested and I’m still getting the same thing.

And I updated the iPad App to 7.2.6 and it’s still the same. This is watching over my local network, FYI.

PMS is running on an M1 Mac mini running MacOS 12.0.1
The iPad is an M1 iPad Pro (12.9) running iPadOS 15.1

Okay, I seem to have solved this myself. If anyone else encounters this weird issue: I completely deleted the app from my iPad and reinstalled. So far, so good.

Interesting. I filed the report for this crash as well. Plex Transcoder crashes during client playback

I never considered that the client would impact the server-side crash
