PMS Crashes Daily same time (Restart Required of service)

Server Version#:1.18.8.2527 (downgraded in hope to fix)

the Server has been fine for years, but recently been problematic, its crashing on a daily basis , as in it stop and i have to restart the plex service to bring it back, i think something plex related must be running which is killing it as its same time daily , 8.30-9pm i just cant put my finger to it , ive done a fresh image and put it on a new server to rule out data centre issues, ive also setup server from scratch and issue continued so not sure where to go to resolve this issue, its been 2-3 weeks with these issues now , ive also tried going back to a older version of plex , no joy also

Can you provide DEBUG (not VERBOSE) log files (the ZIP) which were captured right after restart?

That will tell us the most about what’s happening. Anything else is truly a “shrug”.

Sorry could you please let me know how to get the logs
never needs to get these before

I’m actually having this same problem. It’s super weird. The process doesn’t die, but it stops accepting connections. I need to restart the process for connections to be accepted again. This server has been running fine for years, but just recently started doing this. I’ve enabled debug logs, next time it happens I’ll see if I can upload some logs.

The logs can be retrieved two ways.

  1. Settings - Server - Troubleshooting (left side) - Download Logs

or

  1. Manually retrieve them using File Station.

Either will do. Both return the same information.

Hey Chuck see attached logs, this was a minute after it came back online after a crash Plex Media Server Logs_2020-04-12_22-28-52.zip (4.0 MB)

do you have a proxy? I’m seeing X-Forwarded-For info.

it is setup via Media Box

this is the build we have to run plex , always used it never had issue but 1 of my servers now does

is DLNA enabled? I smell a rat here.

what do you mean rat?

all disabled mate as you can see

so there is a proxy. That answers that question.

“rat” – something making a mess of the goodies

Is DLNA enbled? If so, and you’re not using it. Turn it off. It leaks memory and will cause crashes

Anout to have dinner here. Will need to pick up later.

ok can you message me once you have finished your bite to eat, would like to get to the bottom of this, i have 2 servers my other server is setup the same and doesent have issue :frowning:

of course… just really bad timing. I did reply 5 days ago

yeah sorry didnt get any notification of a reply sadly, so i logged on hoping there was a response today

i guess you will reply tomorrow some time

I just realized this is docker.

Do you have a daily docker update check script?
It would explain a lot.

I can’t help with docker because I don’t use it. I run native app on all my systems (a lot less complicated).

If you want to run native, I can help with that

plex is set not to update currently due to issues, we are using portainer,
