Server Version#: 1.24.0.4930
Windows Build: 10.0.19041.1165
Player Version#: Various, mostly auto-updated Roku, RokuTV, but also ShieldTV devices
Problem: Enabling remote access invokes a crash as soon as someone tries to playback, it does not seem to matter which file. Toggling remote access off and back on has also caused the PMS process to crash as well.
Notes: I returned home from a few days away to have someone tell me my server was inaccessible, and sure enough the process had crashed. I took the opportunity to upgrade from 1.23.4.4805 to 1.24.0.4930 at the same time. That update seemed to complete just fine with no apparent issues. Soon after anytime someone would attempt to playback, the server process would immediately crash. If a client sat waiting for my server to come back online, then I couldn’t even restart PMS without disabling my NAT rule to prevent the user from connecting. If I disable remote access, local playback from a Roku or ShieldTV seems to work fine, so the issue definitely seems isolated to remote clients, most of whom require a transcode (I use Intel QSV).
