PMS crashes while scanning in media from Synology NAS over SMB (gigabit LAN).
Server in Plex app indicated Plex Media Server as “Stopped”.
Attempt to start it again fails.
Reboot brings the server back up, only for it to crash again when scanning starts.
Setting “run scanner tasks at lower priority” doesn’t fix anything.
suspect issue with transport encryption / server signing in SMB setting. Shield is using signing when setting is as “client defined”
Disabled setting for both, resulting in higher transfer speeds, stable PMS.
Scanning in media is now progressing well.
From memory this is an issue which has been addressed previously by Plex.
