PMS Data Folder

I have the PMS running on a Lenovo desktop with Windows 10. About 2 years ago I added a Samsung EVO 870 SSD drive to the desktop and moved my Plex data folder to the SSD drive (D:). In January the SSD drive failed. I can see the D: drive in Windows Explorer but the drive will not mount. I installed Samsung disk utility (Samsung Magician) and it does not see the drive at all. I sent the drive to Samsung and Samsung just confirmed they will replace the drive since it’s still under warranty. Unfortunately, the data are not recoverable. Currently the PMS is not running since the D: drive have been removed and is with Samsung.
When I installed the replacement drive from Samsung:

  1. Just format the replacement drive and create the Data folder and just refresh all of my media?
    or
  2. Uninstall and reinstall PMS and configure the Data folder to be on the new replacement drive?

I appreciate any advice.

It will be mostly 1) but you also need to recreate your libraries, since they are all stored in the Plex data folder – which is completely lost.
