Does anyone know if Plex plans to implement a “tuner check” before starting a recording? If I understand correctly, Plex reserves a tuner at the time the recording is scheduled. If that specific tuner is not available because it’s already in use by another program (like HDHomeRun View), the recording fails. Most people with an HDHomeRun device probably also use the HDHomeRun application (at least for live TV). I really want to use Plex DRV but it’s way too unreliable because of this. I have had a bunch of failed recordings because someone in my house is always using the HDHomeRun View app to watch live TV. I would think that a “DVR” application would at very least check for available tuners and choose a free one. That seems pretty basic to me. Running as a service without having to install an additional application would be another no brainer but that’s a topic for another post.
