Sorry if this is a known issue, I have been searching for 2 weeks now and can’t find an answer.
I am running a PMS on my windows desktop at home. The sever has 3 libraries, content, downloads, and movies.
On my account I have two profiles, one for me that can access all 3 libraries, and one for the family that can only access “movies”
I also grant access to a friend who can access “content” remotely.
So everything was working great until a couple of weeks ago. All remote access stopped working, I found out from my friend telling me. I think I fixed that by turning off my VPN, the VPN was not on the same machine as a server or player, but it seems whenever I have a VPN turned on an ANY device on my home network, remote access is not available.
But here is the big issue, at the same time, the folder “movies” became not available on any device except my desktop (that hosts the PMS) when using my profile. If I log into my family profile the movies library is not available (even from the same machine). If I log onto either profile on my roku or phone, I also get “content not available” for the movies library, but I can see the other two libraries on my profile.
It seems like a problem with the folder, but nothing has changed with the folder since it worked. Could it be an issue with my network/VPN/router?
And starting today, when I log into my plex account on my desktop, I can’t see the server at all, it is like it is not turned on. However I can stream on my other local devices, but no remote access.
