PMS not working. DLL not found errors

No idea what happened. Plex was working last night and then this morning (6/11/25) stopped working out of nowhere. I’ve been unable to restore to an earlier restore point, and am trying to avoid reinstalling Plex if I can help it. I have a backup, but it’s over a month old. Any suggestions?

Again, when I try to start the server, I get errors that the following are not found:

libcurl.dll
fmt.dll
boost_filesystem.dll

dll’s should not go AWOL out of the blue. Verify that your hard drive is in good health.

Do also check the log files of your anti virus software, if it perhaps mistakenly identified these as viruses and deleted them. If it did, report it to the manufacturer as a false positive. (Or switch AV apps.)

There is no danger in performing a repair installation.
But you need to make sure that you are NOT using any kind of “Uninstaller” or “Windows cleaner”-type of app.
You will find the last 4 installers in your Plex data folder, in the subfolder /Updates.

Thank you!

Server is working again. It does appear to have been my antivirus
