I updated the server yesterday as prompted by Plex. Also updated the Metadata thingo as prompted.
Now when I turn the copy on it says that the following files are not found:
icuin69.dll
opencv_core455.dll
opencv-imgproc455.dll
icuuc69.dll
I’m looking for a way to update the server again but I can’t do it. I try to download a new version but it says I already have it installed.
I’m stuck. I have been using Plex fine for over 7 years but I’m stumped. Any help for would be greatly appreciated
I have the same issue. This is what I have discovered:
Apparently, this is happening to a few people only because I cannot find any information online that can help resolve the issue. Starting with 1.40.3.xxxx Plex Server is now a 64-bit application and has this problem. I waited for them to release 1.40.4.xxxx but still I get the same errors as you. Initially, it runs fine, but then it stops working and throws that same error message about opencv_core455.dll not found.
My solution has been to downgrade to 1.40.2.xxxx which is the last 32-bit version and that version is stable. You will have to uninstall and reinstall a 32-bit version to fix your issues and prevent any updates.
Hopefully Plex will release an updated 64-bit version that corrects this problem for some users like us. In the meantime, all you can do is downgrade and make sure not to upgrade until a version is released that fixes the issue.
After the successful database repair, you can try am manual update of your server:
Stop/quit/end Plex Server with the tray icon
deinstall Plex Server with the regular ‘Apps’ control panel of Windows
(do not use 3rd party ‘Uninstaller’ software like Revo etc.
do not use “Registry Cleaner/optimizer” software like CCleaner et al)
for safety, reboot Windows
download the installation exe of the newest 64bit version and install it
If you are running Plex server as a Windows system service, you also need to upgrade the service wrapper to the latest version. (if you don’t know what that is, you are likely not running Plex as a service)
I am having the same problem! I can reinstall Plex and then it will run one time. If I close Plex and try to restart, I get the message that one or more of those DLLs cannot be found. I did locate them in C:\Program Files\Plex\Plex Media Server, so apparently Plex is still trying to run from the C:\Program Files(x86) folder. Any insight into solving this problem would be appreciated!
