PMS / Nvidia Shield TV / Synology DS415play shared directories randomly unavailable

Hi,

I use PMS on a Nvidia Shield TV (2015 model 5.1 upgrade) connected to a Synology DS415play NAS.

Video shared directory is always visible from the PMS but the Music / Photo shared directories disappears randomly.

In the past, I used PMS from the Synology package but it worked not well as from the Nvidia Shield TV and this problem never appeared.

I see other threads about this but nothing really helpfully.
Is someone from the Plex Team available to explain/help to solve the issue ?

Check the share permissions in DSM.

While Synology is good, there is one thing they are infamous for… forgetting (dropping) share permissions randomly.

It’s pretty much a ‘Oh well, that’s Synology’ quirk. One can only hope it’s been resolved in DSM 6.1

DSM permissions are (has always been) good.

I never had this kind of problem on any other devices using smb share.
The mean problem comes (for me) from the NVidia Shield. I had to reconnect lan mounted shares after rebooting it

DSM 6.1 is installed and up to date.
