PMS on Pi 4 with HDHomerun cannot play live TV

Server Version#: 1.19.4.2935
Player Version#: Mac 1.13.0.1275-bbd8d37b and FireTV Player version 8.3.0.18912

I am running plex server on Pi 4 and using HDHomerun to stream Live TV. I have tried both Plex Player on Mac and FireTv and they don’t play Live TV. I can record and play the recorded stream on Mac, but not on FireTV. I have disabled transcoding as it freezes every other second. This used to work a few days back and now for some reason it has stopped and constantly gives the following error messages in the log

Unable to find title for item of type 5

[Transcoder] [mpeg2video @ 0x1fbaa10] Invalid frame dimensions 0x0.

Failed to obtain a streaming resource for transcode of key /livetv/sessions/b1b82822-219c-4d9a-9827-984a0fdf2843

Even though transcoding is disabled, I am not sure why I see transcoding messages.

I have tried removing the server and reinstalling, but no help. If I can run HDHomerun App on firetv and Mac without issue, why is Plex needing transcoding. Am I missing some configuration to direct stream the mepg2 video without needing to transcode?

I was able to get this setup working on Roku TV after forcing directplay on the Roku Plex player. I couldn’t find any similar setting on AFTV app. Is there someway to force directplay on the plex app on fireTV (4K model). Appreciate any help.

Thanks

Hi, I was finally able to figure out the issue on Amazon fire TV. It looks like the issue was due to subtitles. Once I selected “only show non-hearing impaired subtitles and only show non-forced subtitles” in my Plex.tv account page it fixed the issue and now I can direct play my hdhomerun using Plex server running on PI.
