Hi guys, I have read a lot about PMS on Ras Pi 4 but I can’t seem to find a resolution to my issue. My setup is as follows:-
Ras Pi 4 connected to the network via Gigabit ethernet, setup for Direct Stream or Direct Play depending on the playing device, the only transcoding that is happening is audio transcoding which I am led to believe the Pi should be able to handle easily.
Testing has been very basic in terms of direct streaming one 1080p stream to one Hisense 43" 4K TV across a LAN, the Hisense is connected via Wi-Fi but is about 4 feet away from the Ubiquiti AP.
I have so far looked at disk speed from my USB3 connected drive bay running RAID 1 connected to my Pi and the speed I believe is fine (/dev/sda1:
Timing cached reads: 1718 MB in 2.00 seconds = 859.46 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 524 MB in 3.01 seconds = 174.03 MB/sec)
The network also seems fine, running a PING from Pi to TV is 1ms.
Pi doesn’t seem to be topping out of resource I have run htop whilst streaming and there is nothing drastic going on, just the audio transcoding. I currently have nothing else running on the Pi.
The stream to the TV is 11Mpbs 1080P.
I have attached a few screenshots if anyone can maybe shed a little light on where to look next?
Thanks,
LFH.
