PMS on Windows 10 keeps crashing after v1.18.1.1973 update

Not yet. Still with the development team

I’m still having this issue and stuck with v1.18.0.1944
I run an i5 4670 with Intel HD graphics 4600. Also have a NVidia GeForce GT630
Any advise on how to fix this?

Regarding the 3 possible different crashes outlined in my earlier post here, for the first - a crash that came in after 1.18.0.1944-f2cae8d6b and does not arise in that version, I have a number of users who have been helping isolate the cause and we now have a development build of Plex Media Server that appears to fix that crash. I can make that available to you, if I see logs from your server after a crash to confirm that you are getting that crash

Hello all so I have PMS version 1.18.2058 it just started crashing and I read another thread and it turned out to be my HDhomerun DVR. I unplugged it then deleted the DVR in PMS and all system are go so far. Hopefully this will help at least 1 other person out there.

Has the bug been fixed yet? I’m still on an older version of Plex that didn’t crash, hoping that I can upgrade to the latest one soon

I, too, would like to upgrade my server. Please advise if this has been fixed as I’m still running 1.17.0.1841.

To all who are waiting for confirmation regarding Win 10 crashing - you may probably need to review other threads pertaining to specific behavior. I.E. - the effect of transcoding and the GPU/CPU configuration. It is know that the Intel GPU drivers had compatibility issues that caused crashes. I believe the latest Intel drivers are the culprits. Older drivers were good. I do not know of any indigenous Windows 10 issue - any crashes are really caused by other component drivers.

Mine is not related to any of the transcoding issues listed. I’m running an AMD system without Intel drivers at all.

I’m having nearly daily crashes with any 1.18.x versions.

I’ve posted logs a few weeks ago, but with no response from the Plex team yet.

Already have, and have posted here because it’s not relevant to me. Not hard to miss the other threads with the amount of issues going on at the moment.
I don’t use any Intel GPU or anything to do with it in my Plex server. I just recently switched from using raw CPU horsepower to a mITX build with a dedicated GTX 1050 and have gotten a month plex pass to try out hardware encoding.

Just to update my status,
updated to Version 1.18.3.2156, also have done the latest windows update to Win 10 Pro 1909 (OS Build 18363.535) and have not had the crashing issue since.
A new PMS is out, will update to this version later.

Is this issue resolved, finally?

The current position with regards to crashes when hardware acceleration is used is summarized in this forum post

Basically issues resolved with the exception of crashes when running Plex Media Server through an RDP session or as a Windows Service / Scheduled task and it is documented as a limitation currently.
