I have a problem and hope someone can provide some guidance please. I have been troubleshooting for two weeks now and finally decided to do a fresh install. Unfortunately it didn’t work.
I have been running PMS for many years now and it is used daily, internally and remotely. It is running on WHS2011 on a decent server and I have never had any issues. I also run Pfsense/pfblocker firewall. All has been OK until a few weeks ago.
I access the PMS at home through a Blu-ray streamer, PCs, Samsung TV and Nvidia Shield TV. All were affected and the initial problem was that it started to sporadically not play newer material and became very slow, or refused to load some content (timed out maybe). Other content would be fine. It is possible that the issue is but not exclusively related to more recent content.
The PMS, player devices/appa and libraries are always loaded and presented very quickly, it is only when users press Play that the problems start. The message “cannot access content server” appeared often.
I originally suspected the firewall but have, I hope, ruled that out. I can create another PMS instance on another machine behind the firewall and all is ok. Ironically the PMS has worked better when used remotely; it is primarily the local home network that is the problem. I have never had a problem with remote access.
I have checked all the local library permissions etc and they are OK. Done teh Plex Dance a good few times.
I eventually decided that there must be a corrupted config or db so I decided to reinstall and rebuild the PMS. I uninstalled, deleted the programme folder, local data folders and deleted the plex.inc registry entry.
Unfortunately the reinstall hasn’t worked. The PMS is installed but it reports “A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server”.
I also get the “This server is unclaimed and not secure. Claiming this server will associate it with your Plex account.” Followed by “No soup for you! You do not have access to this server” when I try to claim it.
When I try to add a Library PMS returns “cannot save your changes”.
I have uninstalled, cleaned and reinstalled a few times now but no luck. I have googled and investigated extensively but have run out of ideas. I don’t understand the log outputs and I would appreciate some direction please. My logs from the install are attached.
