I started having issues this morning where I could not play any media. I tried on both my Windows 11 desktop, where I typically access my PMS media, and my home TV. Any movie or video that I tried to play on either device would load for several minutes before timing out and giving me message along the lines of unable to play. It gave me the option to retry or skip. I checked all hardware and confirmed everything was functioning as it should. I decided to uninstall my PMS and try a clean install to see if that fixed the issue. PMS reinstalled, ran into the “A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server.” bug. I clicked “Name” to bypass and name my new server. Now, it will not allow me to add a library. I tried skipping through the initial setup and going through manage in settings to add a library, still no. When attempting to add a library, it lets me select a type and list a name. However, the language does not populate, and the drop down isn’t functional. I tried in both a webpage and Plex for Windows. No luck with either. When closing either the webpage or Plex for Windows app and relaunching, I am again prompted to set up my new server. If I check under authorized devices, it shows the new server. I’ve tried removing it from there and relaunching, no changes. I also frequently get a “Something went wrong” error and have to close the app. I’m at a loss for what is going on, and it is now beyond my ability to diagnose the issue.
