PMS stopped working - full reinstall/install does not work

Hello everyone, I’ve run into a large issue that I need some help with.

Sometime in the past few days, my PMS has simply stopped working. I’ve had it installed for years and never had any issues.

y server so I looked at the server itself on my computer and even though the server shows up under my Devices on my account, it does not actually show up.

I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and that did nothing. Plex thinks it’s a different server, but it won’t let me claim it, the button doesn’t work and then it tells me that ‘something went wrong’ and I need to install the server manually. I read a bunch of forum posts about completely uninstalling it (removing folders and registry keys), and now the error comes up that a ‘core component’ is messed up with links to this forum and how to get my error logs.

My hosts file has ip addresses, nothing Plex related:

For example:

102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server

38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.

127.0.0.1 localhost

::1 localhost

I’ve also attached my logs and database, which I’m sure is empty now.

I’m at an absolute loss at this point because even doing a completely clean reinstall only made the problem worse.
