PMS Remote Access Issues

Server Version#: Version 1.24.0.4930
Player Version#: Version 4.63.0
Synology DSM7

Currently, my issue started after switching out a router due to it failing.

The current router has UPnP enabled and other devices that I tried, such as game consoles, were able to do UPnP. For some reason the PMS isn’t able to do remote connection any more.

I have restarted my Synology NAS and all networking equipment. Still, unable to access PMS remotely.

I even opened up a port manual as well, still had issues where the PMS would say it’s not connect.

Checked to make sure the port was open as well from the outside.

At this time, after last reboot, it seems I can access the PMS outside of the network, but this happened to me before and after a day or so it stopped working.

Currently the Remote Access page shows it as “Not Available outside your network.”

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply @trumpy81

Went ahead and updated my port manually and disalbed the other one to test this out.

After, went into Plex settings and noticed it’s now showing Indirect as the status; Updated the port manually, but it seems now it’s showing as “Currently unavaliable.”

I logged in directly with LAN IP and it showed Remote access disabled. Turned it back on and similar as before, It’s showing as not available outside.

I went ahead and checked my mobile device and was able to access it remotely at this time via LTE. Also tried with tablet connected via Mobile hotspot and it seems to be reachable.

Do you know if it’s a known issue where it keeps stating it’s not available outside?

I gotcha, Thanks for the reply.

I was just wondering why it started showing as unavailable from outside recently is all.

I appreciate your time heping troubleshooting this.

Edit: Seems manually port forwarding will be my go to from now on.

Understood. Thanks again @trumpy81

In the past I have manually connected to my NAS externally via port 32400 and it worked fine before the upgrade to DSM 7. Has this port number now changed to 49200 and would you advise I try the same steps as Slagish1?

Thanks.

No, the main port for the server is the same. We were just testing that random port number.

As long as you port forward on the router external port to the internal port for your server you can use almost any port.

As you see on the above screenshot I was port forwarding that 49200 to 32400.
