I am evaluating Plex Client/Server on an Nvidia ShieldTV Pro, moving from Kodi/ServerWMC/Windows7.
Since installation, Live TV is responsive in general navigation, but very slow to open a Live TV channel/stream. Approx 50% of attempts to watch a channel fail with on-screen error messages. When it does play a channel, audio/video sync gets steadily worse, one experiment to see if it would self-correct resulted in approx 20 seconds separating the streams at point before I stopped the stream.
The error given when attempting to watch a channel is “Recording Failed: Live TV - Session”, followed by “Error Tuning Channel, Please Try Again Later”. It does not appear to be channel-specific, and pushing the ‘Watch’ button a few times usually works, but sometimes have to exit Live TV and go back in.
I have attached Logs of one such Live TV viewing failure, the attempt was around 08:24.
Update: while writing this I also noticed (this has not been observed before), that in Plex Server settings screen it shows “! WinTV DualHD device not found. Ensure your device is powered on and connected to your network.”, which is interesting because in that state I managed to watch a channel (after the usual failed attempt).
