Server crashes out when watching live tv DVBT

Server Version#1.41.0.8911
Player Version#: 8.38.2

Using XMLTV?: No
Channel number/Name: All
Plex Media Server Logs_2024-08-18_12-13-23.zip (1.4 MB)

Extremely frustrating situation occuring which has only started happening in the last few weeks. Running PMS on the shield and has been working fine in the main (other than the recent EPG issue which is fixed).

When watching live tv on either the shield or streaming to any other device on the LAN the stream will stop, presenting the message ā€œAn error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please check your connection and try again.ā€

If I’m logged into plex web, I can see that the server briefly becomes unavailable and then returns a short number of seconds later. I’m at a loss of what to do now after spending hours trying to figure out why it suddenly happens. When testing last night, I thought I had cracked it with 3 streams running simultaneously for 3/4hr. This afternoon however, I can’t get it to play for more than a handful of minutes.

I have tried deleting and setting up the DVR a couple of times, removing and re-adding the shield to my network (static LAN IP), changing the transcoding options (hardware acceleration etc) to no avail.

Is anyone else experiencing similar? Grateful for any support. Logs are attached.

Edit to add that there are no issues streaming recorded tv or movies.

@BigWheel Do I need a cert reset? I’m seeing this:

[CERT] TLS connection from [::ffff:192.168.178.3]:59161 came in with unrecognized plex.direct SNI name ā€˜192-168-178-65.a79a5bd303204f5599d5e32e0dd378ad.plex.direct’; using installed plex.direct cert

Server still dropping out. Rebooting the shield fixes it for a couple of days.

This is still happening and live TV is unusable. Is ANYONE able to assist?
What do I need to provide that I haven’t already??

The responses to reviews on the Google play store claim that the Plex support staff are happy and helpful to resolve issues.

My experience with this particular issue suggests otherwise.

My Plex pass purchase is not fit for purpose.

@BigWheel I’m still having this issue. Mentioning you (again) as per the suggestion here:

A number of users appear to be having issues with watching live tv. I’m unable to gain any traction with my query at all. Most frustrating.

@ljunkie any chance you can arrange for some assistance please?

Count me in as having the same issue. I ran into this problem a few months back, and the ā€œfixā€ was to uninstall plex server and reinstall. Everything had been working nicely since. This week i noticed the issue popped up again, only reinstalling the server doesn’t seem to resolve the issue anymore. For now, i have to disconnect my tuner from plex because any DVR recordings or anyone inadvertantly attempting to watch live TV crashes the server and requires me to restart the PC running the server.

I’m not sure, but it MAY be covered here:

I’m now thinking of moving away from Plex altogether though after the complete lack of acknowledgement from Plex support staff (even after tagging two of them in).
