PMS - Synology Keeps Crashing

Player Version#: 3.77.4
Model: DS918+ DSM 6.2.1-23824 Update 4

Nearly every 1-2 days PMS keeps crashing and I have to login to DSM, and manually relaunch PMS. I cant work out what the issue is. Seems to be more often when using Live TV/DVR function.

Everything is stock standard. Had PMS running on Windows server for years and never once crashed. Only had the Synology NAS for a month and PMS has been totally unstable. Have done a few things suggested on the forums such as optimize database and clean bundles etc.

Personally I downgraded to Version 1.14.0.5470 and the crashes stopped. Maybe the PMS guys know the cause of the crashes on the DS918+'s by now.

I’m having the same issue on a QNAP TVS-873 with the latest GA release of the QOS. The CPU will spike and when I look at processes the PLEX transcoder is sucking up all the resources. I have to kill PLEX and relaunch to fix it… It works for a day or two and then it starts all over again

Update: Been 6 days since downgrading to .5470 and have not needed to manually relaunch PMS once. only new issue is it sometimes shows the error “recording could not be saved” when changing channels but seems to be a false error as everything is working and operating normally

Glad to hear that 5470 has been stable for you. That error message you refer to is fixed in 5488, however it is a small price to pay to keep the plex server up. Have a look at some of the beta builds, they have those fixes rolled in.
