Gets what for me?
I disabled extensions by the way and it’s still happening. Did what you said for chown and just have to wait and see now.
Ok. Let’s keep an eye on it. There’s something simple I’m missing / forgetting.
I just don’t understand why it’s always the tv shows directory and never the movies directory. If it was a permissions issue surely it would affect both.
That’s what I’m missing too.
The only obvious difference is “TV Shows” has an embedded space whereas “Movies” does not.
That’s what I was thinking. So could the solution be as simple as changing “TV Shows” to “Shows” for the folder name?
Yes, or “Television”. Your choice. It’s definitely worth a shot.
If so, that’ll definitely point us in a direction either way.
Changed the name, so wait and see.
The directory hasn’t disappeared since changing the name of the folder to Shows. 15 hours or so now.
Its disappeared again. I updated the server. Do I need to reapply any settings?
Not that I’m aware of. Restarting Ubuntu didn’t correct it?
I think it is somehow dropping the mounts (perhaps due to being idle)
I haven’t restarted ubuntu since the changes and I turned of hdd hibernation on the synology
If you do restart it, will everything come back up ok?
I restarted and everything is fine so far. It wasn’t happening when you set things but I had to reinstall and just trying to find a simpler way to set it up that I’m able to do myself.
Disappeared again
Think I’ve found the solution to this. I created the mount point in the home directory and in the fstab file I added the path as /home/gordon/DiskStation. Not lost the folder in over 3 days.
