PMS - Synology - not picking up all files

Player Version#: Apple TV 8.17

I am currently running PMS on my Synology DS 1821+ running the latest version of DSM 7.

My PMS is not picking up all the movie files in the main directory. It’s almost like Plex is cherry picking on what files it can see and it can’t.

I thought that it would be a permission issue, but this doesn’t explain why it’s picking up some films and not all of them.

I have installed inFuse on my appleTV and when I use the same credentials that have been assigned to Plex, it picks up all the films and there is no issue with play back at all.

I have removed several of the films fro. the directory, restarted the server, done a a new scan and restarted it again and this does nothing.

Any ideas what the issue may be?

If you’ve already ruled out a permission issue, the most likely culprit will be file naming which can result in files not being added at all or mismatched.

Thanks for the input @tom80H. I should have mentioned that the file names look absolutely fine and follow the Plex naming rules.

Can you post a screenshot of your library folders settings page in Plex?

This name:

Shouldn’t have all the “junk” after the year.

If you wish to maintain it (which make sense) then hide it from the scanner

Thor Love and Thunder (2022) [Remux-2160pHEVCTrueHD AtmosHDR].mkv

results in:

Thor Love and Thunder (2022).mkv

Anything in brackets [ this is invisible ] is dropped by the scanner and not considered part of the name.

The containing folder should be equally so addressed.
e.g.
