PMS told me to post here: A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex

Hi there,

trying to get PMS running on my NAS (411+), had some woe so far:

 - tried installing package through Package Manager, installed fine but wouldn't start.

 - followed a guide to completely remove PMS from the NAS (including deleting the user, install directories etc).  Rebooted.

 - Downloaded the latest version of PMS and installed it manually.  This is PlexMediaServer-0.9.9.5.411-da1d892-x86.spk as I'm a plex pass subber.

 - PMS package now starts and is "running".  Went to the web interface, get an error message: "A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex. Please visit the forums and provide your logs, as described here."

Not sure what to do, so I am attaching the logs and hope someone can help.  FYI these are all from directory /volume1/Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Logs.  I have attached them as a zip file, hope that's ok.

Any questions I can answer, please let me know.

FYI guys, I will be away for a few days, but I will read any responses when I get back - if you have any views on what is wrong with this, please let me know!

Thanks in advance.

Hmm okay, I thought a SMART test just tested per-sector health, not anything to do with the file permissions and the like.

If you've located some stuff about failed bundle installs mind pointing me at them?  That might lead to some hints as to why they didn't install correctly.

Same problem with the synology NAS… It’s impossible to create a connection…

Please manually collect the log files:

  1. Open File Station
  2. Navigate to the Plex share
  3. Drill into it until you see the Logs directory
  4. Right-click and Compress to Logs.zip
  5. Attach that ZIP file in a new topic. (this topic is 4 years old and should have been closed by the forum)
