PMS Update on nVidia SHIELD, unusable on smart TV

I’ve purchased an nVidia SHIELD just to use it as a Plex streaming server, and while it works well from my phone and from a computer, I cannot use it on any of my TVs.

When I try to open any videos, it just fails and says to try again later. If I open the settings tab on the player, it says that I need to update to PMS 1.5.1 in order to use it.

As far as I know, there’s no update for the SHIELD version right now, but this restriction in the smart TV client basically makes this unusable, and it’s very frustrating.

Are there any news about when the update for PMS will come to the SHIELD? Or how can I configure either the client or server so it works?

The PMS version on the Shield should be the same as on other platforms. Please double check the appstore. If you don’t see it, sometimes the appstore on the Shield is lazy and does not update itself. You can use a web browser to access the playstore and push the update to the Shield.
