Not sure what to do I have tried an assortment of AI related suggestions -

Why are you dumping the output of some LLM in here? Don’t do that.

Sorry. This is new to me. It has been removed.

First checks:

  • If you have moved the Plex data folder away from its default location, to an external drive, ensure that the drive has still the same drive letter that it had before the Windows upgrade.
  • Do also check if the folder name of your Windows user profile has been changed during the course of the upgrade. If it did, Plex won’t be able to find its data.

You can check both points by looking into the Windows registry. Go to the registry branch mentioned in this guide: [HowTo] An extended guide on how to move the Plex data folder on Windows
Compare the path contained in the LocalAppDataPath string to the content of your hard drive.
(If the LocalAppDataPath is missing completely, Plex will look in the default location for its data.)

Next thing to try is a re-installation of Plex server.
Download a fresh installer for Plex Media Server from the Plex website https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/?cat=computer&plat=windows#plex-media-server
Then,

  • Stop/quit/end Plex Server with the tray icon
  • deinstall Plex Server with the regular ‘Apps’ control panel of Windows
(do not use 3rd party ‘Uninstaller’ software like Revo etc.
do not use “Registry Cleaner/optimizer” software like CCleaner et al)
  • for safety, reboot Windows
  • run the downloaded installer
  • Reboot Windows again, then try to start Plex server

Side note: Windows 10, 32bit is no longer supported, there are no updates for it anymore. There are also no Plex Media Server builds for it, anymore.

Were you meaning that you updated from Windows 10 to Windows 11?

Thnaks for your help!
