PNG Photos not showing up

Server Version#: Linux
Player Version#: Android, LG TV, Samsung TV, Windows Firefox

I scanned a few old photos and saved them as PNG files in the directory where I keep all my photos. These photos are not showing up. The file type of the photos on my Plex are JPG.

Q1: Can Plex handle PNG photos?
Q2: If answer to Q1 is “yes” what can I do to correct this?

Q1: Yes
Q2: On Linux, my first thing to check is always file permissions. Make sure they’re the same as the JPGs.

I wasn’t aware you had file permissions by extension in Linux. You wouldn’t have a pointer to a guide to do that?
