I have a Synology NAS on my network that hosts my Plex Server, I am using my Apple TV to play from the Synology and I have been experiencing for the past week that when trying to play some shows from my library that the audio of the program plays while the spinning gear shows up. (See screenshots). Sometimes, if I switch to convert automatically, it will play the video normally, sometimes it won’t and I will need to retry the show. If after moving to convert automatically, I switch back to Original quality it will 90% of the time play fine.
These programs used to play normally without issues. The same show will sometimes play normally and then have the issue or vice-versa.
Sometimes I will get a message that the player could not play the show and it would stop in mid-play.
I have ensured that I have the most up to date versions of the App and Server installed. The AppleTV and my NAS are on the same network and connected via the same router via ethernet.

Second issue is that at times, I am noticing that navigating the app on the Apple TV feels slow and sluggish. Not sure if this is a related issued or not
I don’t see Apple TV mentioned in the example URL provided. But it worked previous on earlier versions of the tvOS app. I don’t know the exact version that I last used as it was about two to three months ago.
I was able to play the programs using the latest iOS app on ios18.5 (iPhone 16 Pro Max)
Is there a way to downgrade the tvOS app to a non buggy version?

I have a similar AppleTV and Plex app version. I don’t have any issues with playback on the Apple TV. The difference being the version of PMS I’m running. Except on re-install you would chose Normal Installation, and use an install file of an earlier version.
All of your existing libraries and database entries would remain intact.
Which version you want to rollback to would be up to you. It looks like some are having success on rollback to 1.41.7.9823. You may have to go back even further. There is an archive of past plexmediaserver download urls on Github. Be sure to choose one with the same exact OS as you are running on Synology.
