Poor Full Screen/Media Center/"TV Mode" Documentation, very frustrating

I just reformatted my computer and when I went to reinstall Plex, I realized that the Media Center had been deprecated.

Ok, no biggie, I’ll install media player.

I was immediately frustrated by the ugly interface (I have a large HDTV-HTPC) and it took me literally an hour and a half of searching in the forums to discover that there was still a “Home Theater” mode, accessible by pressing CMD-SHIFT-F. This is not documented ANYWHERE in the app, settings, web view, interface tutorials etc!!! I had to read about it in the forums and then find it in the nondescript article titled, “Controlling the App,” buried in Plex.tv. This feature needs to be called out in BOLD TEXT in the interface overview documentation, and deserves a dedicated button within the media player app itself. This is a major feature, yet its entirely glossed over on the website. I kept looking at all of these pretty screenshots and wondering wtf my version of Plex didn’t look the same way. My sympathies go out to the next poor schmuck that has to go through the same frustrating ordeal in order to get true full screen mode.

Dude, thank you thank you thank you, I was going absolutely mental trying to figure this out. The instructions in the help weren’t right, suggesting you do it off some user menu in the upper right of the home screen, which of course the settings option doesn’t exist in that menu.

Seriously, was so agitated! Nothing else to add but other than to +1 your comment and thank you again. How is the most critical feature of a home theatre PC so… hidden?

Wow, I’ve been searching and searching for this setting, trying to work out why PMP displays in such a different mode on the Mac where the server is running compared to all others. That CMd-Shift-F shortcut is just what was required…
