I just saw an update to the top requests and was bummed that this one didn’t even make the top 15. Come on everyone – please LIKE the first post 
Here is the real problem, there are three requests for Movie Collections on the list:
Movie Collections | 515 points
Collection overhaul ideas | 346 points
Auto Movie Collections | 167 points
Total Movie Collections 1028 points (The Points are growing)
If all these requests were combined it would be in the top 5.
Please, Plex administrators take a look at this Movie Collection REQUEST.
I love this idea. However, this idea doesn’t indicate how the user would get to such a collection interface. I created a new feature request complete with mock-ups) that shows a proposed approach to quickly get to such collections from the main menu. With my approach, the user could sort a collection by name, release date etc. using the current interface.

While i think your suggestion would be easier for the devs to implement, I feel this suggestion is more along the lines of customized playlists. the main reason i like this suggestion better is the addition of collection cover art and descriptions.

It’s not an ‘either/or’ situation Tom. With my suggestion, the end result could still be th fantastic end-collection interface suggested by @truthfulie. My suggestion is a complement to, not an alternative to his interface. Mine could be built with little fuss or effort within the existing framework whether or not @truthfulie’s end-collection interface is ever built. Until it is built the current interface could co-exist with my idea. Once/if his is ever built my idea could coexsit with that.
I’m fully behind this. I just started a collection for baseball today and found out that I could not put Ken Burns’ Baseball in the same collection as my baseball movies. We need something at the root level where I can select baseball and get everything I have with a tag of baseball regardless of the type of media that I designated.

It will be easier to add this if we get collections in the first place. There is a request currently listed with 794 likes. If you add your likes there we can get collections added and then adding additional features to it should be easier. (link below). Super slick mockups btw. Very impressive and I’d love to see this as an option

We can merge the threads, but the likes won’t get combined. They would most likely get lost from 1 thread.

No need @elan and the management team are fully aware of the votes for this, the multiple threads and the significant user wish for this. . As has been discussed adnaseum, vote count is largely irrelevant to their decisions as to what features they implement and when. Collections are on their radar and they have indicated that at some point in the future they will implement them. We just have to be patient
