Port forwarding works but won't wake Windows 10 machine

I’ve had Plex for quite a while but wasn’t able to get to Plex remotely. I thought it was my port settings but just as of today I see that it wasn’t. Before I left for work, I decided to change the sleep setting of the hard drive to “never” turn off. After doing that, and while on the train and here at work, I had no problem getting into my home server. This means that my port settings are good to go.

Would anyone know a work around for this? Or what settings have to be worked with so I can set some kind of sleep for my computer?

Thanks

In general, Plex is a server and is not sleep aware.

YMMV:

The feature is called WOL (Wake On LAN)
Which means, only a machine on the local network can wake another machine on the same local network.

Some routers have support for “Wake On WAN” (kinda) in that they provide some web site or a mobile app which you can use to wake up pre-defined machines on your local network, while you’re out and about.
