Casting my vote for this for combining editions into one.
You should be presented with the choice of edition when clicking on the movie while browsing. That would be similar to how DVDs and Blu-rays do it and would force users to see it.
And as seen in this other feature request: Multiple Editions - Feedback & Suggestions // mod: shared extras for editions in same folder Movie editions in independant folders should be treated as their own movie and movie editions inside one folder should be treated as the same movie, that would give server admins the choice to treat them in the way they want.
