I too am experiencing the same issue on Shield TV pro. If I select another track instead of cancelling the current playing one, both tracks play simultaneously. It’s been doing this for over a month now . . . any progress detecting the bug?
We are still looking into it and are currently investigating a possible issue with a component
Same problem on Fire TV. Rebooted but problem returns after two or three skips.
I have this same issue playing on my nVidia Shield, Galaxy S10 Plus Phone, and Apple iPad from any of my smart playlists. It is EXTREMELY annoying. It seems new in the past few months to me.
Once you skip a song or two it starts playing the song twice a few seconds off from the original with an annoying echo.
If I stop playing the original song the echo continues for 15 sevonds or so and then stops as well. If I play another song it starts double playing that song. I csnt get it to work again properly until I kill the player and restart. Then if I skip a song its back to square one. Please fix this annoying bug. It cant be that hard to replicate it seems to happen on everything.
Any news please? Also having this issue on Nvidia shield.
Looking at bug report they are still looking into it but have not found the culprit yet
Keeping an old thread going, but this is still happening. I’m using Plex on a Firestick and have been having this issue. It seems related to making rapid changes between tracks, as others have noted. I have also found that it will often play the same song over top of itself with a second or two delay. Very annoying and I’m almost ready to give up on Plex.
I have saved logs from the server from when it happens. How/where should I upload? I do not see an option for saving the logs on the player.
for Android TV logs you need to enable logging then go to the URL listed after enabled in your webbrowser on a computer in same network. and copy it to a text file. You can drag drop files in the text entry window in forum to upload
Thanks. Just found that…

One thing I just realized is that if I let the overlapping songs play until the initial song completes, then the second song will continue to play correctly and then the next song will play without issue. So it seems more like one song is “sticky” rather than a consistent overlapping.
Thanks for info. I added your logs to bug report.
Noticed this also on Plex for Nvidia Shield over the past month. If I play any music/playlist and skip a few times it keeps playing one of the songs at random along with the current song displayed on screen. Pausing stops both sometimes, but not constantly.
Shield, Plex app, and server all on the latest available update.
I got the same bug today. I use the Shield Pro for client and server. My media is on a Synology NAS. It’s related to skipping music. I also don’t understand how to stop music from playing. When you bring up the bar which has a square button (I assume that is stop) it does nothing. When I hit the skip button that is when it started playing two songs at once. When I exited Plex the Shield Home screen was showing the song that was playing in the background.
This has been happening to me for a year now on Shield TV Pro 2019
Also an issue here on android tv box pls fix this is very annoying
I just got a Shield and replicated the experience. Interestingly, it does not happen on the Windows app. Sure would be nice if this could be fixed.
I use plexamp so do not have this issue. However I’ve recently started sharing my server with my parents and they are having this issue on the Plex app on a Sony smart tv. Not sure when I will be able to get logs, but wanted to add another device to the list.
On AFTV 4K Max I’ve noticed this issue with a recent final release again.
However, with the previous one, there are no such occurrences. ![]()
Same here, on a Google TV set.
Any update on this issue? Makes playing music impossible on nvidia shield.
Thanks,
