Hello All,
I wanted to know if anyone has this particular issue or can re-create it. I have an issue when someone accesses my server (windows) remotely on their web browser Chrome (windows). If they close a stream by closing the windows (X at the corner) the stream continues to play, even if they close chrome completely and shutdown the PC. If the hit stop the stream stops as is should. How can I get the stream to stop when they “X-off” their Chrome window? If 5 people stream via Chrome and don’t hit “stop” their streams continue to show as playing, when the close the browser window. Not sure if it’s a big with Plex.
The playback indicator on the server dashboard will go away by itself. Just wait a few seconds more.
Closing the player by closing the web browser window is rude. By doing this you are giving the Plex app (which is running inside the web browser window) no chance to actually notify the server that playback is stopped. Compare it to pressing the Reset button on your computer (if you remember these).
Always use the Stop button at the bottom of the screen to properly signal to the server that playback has stopped. If the video is not yet played completely, Plex server will then store the playback progress for you, so you can continue that video another time.
