Hello is it possible to scrape using folder names and NOT the video file name?

Not without rewriting the scanner yourself. And then it would be overwritten every time an update was pushed out or you updated your PMS. Is there any reason why you don't want to follow the naming conventions for movies?

To be clear Plex does not take file name and make that the name in the listing.


It uses the folder or filename as a search term to find the movie online. The only case where it does not do that is when the local metadata agent grabs embedded titles in an MP4
