Hi

Is there any chance to play movies from my synology server via internet (WAN) on an Apple TV 3 ?

No issue with Apple TV 4K…
but looks like there’s no solution (even not regular) for Apple TV third generation :frowning:

I get an error (without accurate reason) when trying to copy iPhone screen to Apple tv3.
In best case I only have the sound.

Jailbreak your ATV3 and install PlexConnect

It looks like jailbeak can be a solution only if PlexServer is local no ?
In my current need regarding ATv3 I’m trying to find a solution to play movies on my parents TV from my personal PlexServer (and I live in a different city :sweat_smile:)

PlexConnect can be installed in jailbreak ATV3, no need to have a separate computer for that. After install you login PlexConnect with your parent’s plex id and off you go. More info here.

Please note that PlexConnect does not support all Plex features, but for accessing media from your remote Plex Server it should be ok.
