@ChuckPa, nothing was showing the little “spinning tag” logo.
I just stopped PMS, cleared the plug-in cache and started PMS. I just reran a full metadata refresh, and it still gets nothing.

I’m just trying to help here. Allow me to visualize.
Steps: 1.) Shutdown. 2.) Clear Caches 3.) Start PMS.
Locate poster desired to be changed:
Max,
I will need to see some examples (copy paste please) of your naming and structure inclusive of file extensions.
I’m not convinced your issue is entirely related to TheTVDB V3 API change.
Clearing the agent cache on my nas fixed my issue. Thanks.
That’s a Plex/Web cache problem
Please clear out everything in the browser from Plex and force it to load too.
It is not. Moved to an entirely un-used browser and it still renders the grey box. The content presented is not the poster I selected, it’s a grey box. This is cross-clients, cross-browser. The cache problem is PMS side, not client-side.
My PMS logs show this when I set the poster:
Nov 22, 2019 09:39:26.968 [7196] ERROR - Error bringing media local (metadata://seasons/1/posters/com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb_591bdbeba1cea358e9e91d04b0a7911bdbfc6a1c).
I’m seeing this too. I waited to add this show until after the poster issue was fixed. I then changed the Show poster and then the Season 1 poster. Show poster is fine, Season is blank. Viewed in Plex app on phone and see the same thing.

Tgasker,
This is something outside the scope of what I can address here.
I will need to recreate your issue in isolation.
I don’t know if it’s a TVDB issue or a Plex issue.
I need DEBUG logs please (the full ZIP file). I can’t diagnose with screenshots.
That’s fair. Just wanted to get it out there that there are still some sort of content issues even in this hotfixed version.
Attached, and thanks Chuck for everything you’ve done to get this working again.
@ChuckPa, I’m such an @$$. In my haste, when this all started, I had changed my TV library to use Personal Assets, vs. TheTVDB. It appears to be working now.
Max,
Thanks! PEBKACs are expected. Glad you found it.
Something won’t work fine.
Removed the Metadata matching and Splited the Series which have had the Cover Issue (other Thread) and got now the wrong cover over all 5 Seasons.
If i match it again, i still get just another wrong Cover over all 5 Seasons, even the Metadata will be correct.
There are also no Covers or Backgrounds to match Manually.
Something isn’r right there. Are you one level too deep in the folder tree?
I have the exact same grey box issue.
Updated from docker image to 1.18.2.2058. It now downloads images from tvdb, which I can see when I click on edit, but when I save, it doesn’t work.

Please understand my purpose here.
I am here, working this problem, to address the retrieval issue.
I cannot address any other issues regarding to selecting & saving.
Those issues are separate and require a fresh workup
First Row is at the main Libary level after i deleted the Metadata and split the relationship. Metadata were gone, also the Cover from season 1-4 which were fine bevore i spited the season.
If i did this in the past, there were no Covers like you add a new Series which won’t auto match.
Second row is now inside the Series, also second level which completely Metadata, except the Cover and Background.
It looks like there is somewhere something cached from Season 5 which will overwrite everything else, but a kind of crazy is, that the Cover changed from itself after i scanned Season 01 for Metadata and then Season 2-5 got also this cover.
I really appreciate your Support, even there are such a lot of Users with trouble.
Until i splitted the Series because the trouble with S05, Season 1-4 were looks like exactely like your Screenshot. But now it looks like my Screenshot.
With another Series including 5 Seasons, i didn’t have had any trouble. Just with the two where i got the wrong main Cover during the API trouble.
Would there be a way to delete manually everything which is in connection with the affected Series?
Like Cache and undeleted leftovers, because PLEX has to have this wrong information from somewhere.
Using the Troubleshoot cleaning won’t help at all.
EDIT: If i do it again, it will always end in the same picture like i posted before with the Covers (upper row) in the Libary, even there is no assignment at all.
