Poster/Background Images not being displayed anymore

Server Version#: 1.13.9.5439
Player Version#: 3.69.1

System: Windows Server 2012 r2 No AV or Firewall. Dedicated server. The drives are ISCSI connection to a NAS.

Issue: Posters are disappearing and not being displayed on Movies and TV shows that were recently added. For instance, the Modern Family Poster was displaying until a new episode was added and now it will not display. This is the case for any TV show with new episode.

Capture

The posters still appear to be on the server, but they will not be displayed. I can upload posters and an object representing the new poster will show up but it will not be displayed. See the image bellow.

I have reinstalled the server created a new library and it appeared to solve the issue posters started appearing and then a short time later they would not be displayed despite being downloaded.

I am unable to find a solution or a reason adding new episode would stop the server from display the images. The issue is across all platforms and apps. I could not find an obvious error in the serve logs and I was able to locate the images in the meta data folder that will not display,. Anyone have any ideas?

Dang… Can’t remember all of it but I saw this once before on this site and the solution was some web browser plug-in blocking content.

that or some “cleaner” app that removed Plex’ local media assets cache. considering the pics show in a new library, I’ll have my money on the latter :S

Or was it an anti-virus app…

I started the server as if it was new and created a new library. The posters showed for almost 30 seconds after downloading and then they disappeared. I will up load the log for that test but i can see anything in them to show why they are not displaying.

Logs.7z (2.2 MB)

Can you try a different web browser? You know… as a test…
That or start your browser with all plug-ins/extensions disabled

Its not the browser, All the Apps, Phone, Tablet and clients show the same thing,

Have you installed any Windows Updates recently?

Nope. The server has been static since it was set up. The only update would have been when I updated plex. The drive was migrated recently but that was transparent to the plex sever and I have not been able to find any permission issues as it can still create and add meta data to the drive it just doesnt feel like showing it.

File System Doesn’t Support Symlinks/Hardlinks

The metadata–and particularly artwork–stored on your Plex Media Server makes use of symbolic links/hard links for referencing the same item from multiple locations.

Some filesystems such as Microsoft’s Resilient File System (ReFS) or “drive pooling” implementations don’t correctly handle things in such a way that the links used for the metadata work correctly.

If you place your Plex Media Server data directory on such a file system or drive pool, you may run into problems.

I created a new drive and made it NTFS and migrated the Plex Data to it. Posters started appearing shortly after.
