I am wondering if there is a way to set the poster format back to vertical. On all other devices (laptop, android) the posters are vertical and you can see the entire poster. On the ROKU 3, and my smart TV with build in ROKU, the posters are in something like the 16:9 horizontal format, whic cuts off the tops and bottoms to the point that a lot of the titles are missing and you cant really see what the poster shows. Not a fan of this “feature”
Well, that’s odd. I have and use the Roku3 for all my plex needs and never have I seen the movie/show posters in landscape.
Are they referring to a personal movies library where the thumbnail is horizontal?
Yes it is local movies on our server. That is the only thing we run through the plex server. The posters are only horizontal on the Roku devices in the home. Just fine on Windows computers or on Android devices. Just started happening after the latest update to the plex server, but I don’t see how that could be the problem since the posters are fine on the other devices. The pictures below show the difference. The first one is not to scale of the second since I had to take a picture of the roku devices with my cell, but these do show the actual difference in what you see on the ROKU vs any other device. Obviously the first one is not very informative.
