Poster image shown with background image aspect ratio

I have a personal movie collection that I have built, maintained and extended upon over the years. It used to show the poster for the asset both in the library browse page as well as on the movie detail page.
Some time ago, plex started showing the background image in the location of where the poster used to be on the movie’s detail page. I thought this was disappointing, but ultimately not a deal breaker. However, more recently, it is also started showing the background image in the library browser page. This makes the list much more bloated and since (like on the movie detail page) it clips the image to a certain size, the title on it often cannot be read either.

Currently, it is setup as an ‘Other Videos’ type of library using the ‘Plex Video Files Scanner’ and the ‘Personal Media’ for the agent.

Is there a setting I can change to, at minimum, get the posters to show up on the library browser page again?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Correction: it actually is the posted that is shown in the places described above, however it is in the format of the background image (i.e. landscape/ widescreen, rather than portrait).
